Koi Cafe (Bubble tea)

What is Koi Cafe all about?
Koi is all about bubble tea , Bubble tea is a sweetly flavored tea beverage invented in Taiwan. Drink recipes may vary, but most bubble teas contain a tea base mixed with fruit (or fruit syrup) and/or milk. Ice blended versions of the drink are also available, usually in fruit flavors. Bubble teas usually contain small tapioca balls or pearls called "boba". Pearls made of jelly are also available in many places. These teas are shaken to mix the ingredients, creating a foam on the top of some varieties, hence the name.

How Successful is Koi Cafe?
Koi Cafe sells Bubble tea , Koi cafe was from Taiwan itself , due to the overwhelming popularity , Koi was then introduced to Singapore. Since then , Koi cafe has gained a rather strong following of loyal customers whom despite the store’s long queues still stand their ground for their very delicious milk tea. Therefore their oulet has increases and can be found at Ang Mo Kio , Bishan , Illuma , People's Park , Marine Parade and Toa Payoh.

The straws are individually wrapped and sealed. Not so environmentally friendly, but definitely more hygienic. Compared to other bubble tea brands, KOI Cafe is slightly pricier, but I don’t mind paying a bit more for quality ingredients.
One of the most outrageous long queues for Koi is located at Illuma.

Although with prices that are way higher than the normal cup of bubble tea, it is easy to see why their business is doing so well and why Singaporeans are buying into the tea cafe concept. And probably due to the freshness which they make in front of you watching them. They amount of pearl they give is quite generous.

The most famous Milk tea .
They come in various sizes .
Purchased more than 50Sgd , you would get a Koi's Keychain.

Another Koi Cafe at Clementi.
Why is Koi more successful than other bubble tea outlet?
The tapioca balls had superb texture too. They struck the right balance between soft and chewy, and were mildly tasty. Also, they weren’t too big, which minimizes the risk of choking. Yes, that’s very important for me cos I’ve accidentally swallowed a few of them whole! They are also more generous with tapioca balls. ou get to choose the sugar level you like. There’s 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and 0%!
Due to the overwhelming number of people queuing up for their daily bubble tea fix, it is frankly quite impossible to get your drink without a queue

So how does Singaporean feels about Koi?
In the past, most Singaporeans were still new to the bubble tea concept and were more than willing to fork out some money to test out the novelty. Needless to say, the bubble tea craze came crashing down after a good couple of years when the idea of paying for shoddily made and artificial flavored drinks was deemed too much. Fortunately, KOI Cafe brought back the experience of drinking teas that were made lovingly with better ingredients.
From the extremely long queues on weekends and many rave reviews on the internet, most can guess that KOI Cafe is here to stay. Lets hope that they will still maintain the current level of workmanship while opening a few more strategic placed shops to cater to more people.
Delivery services via bike is possible if you live nearby a KOI cafe branch and make a huge order via phone.
Thanks you for having your time to read our views for Koi Cafe .
